Description

1956 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia for parts, or restoration, or customization. Has a non running frozen dual port 1600cc motor not original and not completely stock. Engine has been setup with an external oil filter and an external cooler and a 12 volt alternator and an aluminum fan shroud. Does not have a split case transmission. Body and pan and motor have areas of rust and corrosion. Body chrome was removed at some point and the holes filled. Body is not stock, car was rear ended at some time and a 1960's rear clip was put on, I do have a 1950's rear clip that is included as part of this sale see photo. Interior is in rough shape I don't think the seats are original. It is missing many original parts but many of those are still obtainable. There are some parts included for restoration please see photos. This could make a great project car if you have the space, time, and money. Unfortunately I can't do it in my present situation. When I bought this car it had a bad motor it was not the original so I installed the 1600. It was a blast to drive and always drew nice comments. The car has been parked and or stored for about the last 20 years. The odometer on the speedometer does not work properly so I have no real idea how many miles it has traveled but I must admit I drove it a lot. I have a clear title and the car has current registration here in California. California bidders taxes apply. Local winning bidder can come pick this up after deposit payment and transfer will be made with final payment, cashiers check or cash. I will do my best to work with out of state bidders but all shipping costs and duties, taxes and fees, etc. will have to be paid by winning bidder. I will not devalue the cost of this item on any form. Car is sold as is. No negative or zero feedback bidders without contacting me first. Thanks for looking.
